Oakley Customer Service Manager, Heather Bissell traveled to Atlanta, GA, January 8-14 to kick-off the 2012 OneSight Clinics. Heather met up with a team of 40 trained volunteers and doctors from across North America who all came together to provide much needed vision care and eyewear to Atlanta-area students. During the five-day clinic, 727 kids were given eye exams and 92% of them needed prescription glasses.
While making an impact on many students, there was one that stood out to Heather the most:
“Putting a pair of glasses on this girl’s face for the first time in her life, and seeing her eyes light up and her smile go from ear to ear, was priceless,” said Heather.
The young girl squealed, “Do you realize how great this is? Now that I have glasses, I can see!”
For Heather, hearing those words brought a smile to her face and gave profound meaning to the “gift of sight.”
