3 Dimensional: Oakley Wake Team Drops Stunning 3D Film Project in Orlando, To Hit Stores in Europe & Latin America

Oakley’s Wake Team is full of the most dynamic, high-flying wakeboarders and wake skaters on the Planet – packed with some of the most tantalizing tricks anywhere.

So it was only appropriate to give fans a front seat view of their aerial insanity…on the big screen…in 3D.

Atop the Orlando (Florida) skyline at Star Tower, the O Team kicked off the season with a super exclusive event set to debut their stunning 3D video project.

From young phenom Harley Clifford to Women’s Team ripper Amber Wing, the entire team converged upon Blue Lake in Clermont, Florida for a three day shoot – capturing the drama and intensity that comes with busting out the gnarliest maneuvers ever thrown on the back of a boat or on a cable.

The resulting four minute, action packed 3D clip, scheduled to be showcased in 7,500 electronics stores throughout Europe and South America – as well as 110 Oakley Stores (domestic and overseas), will place the sheer explosiveness of Oakley’s riders on full display for the masses to experience on 3D screens (with, preferably, Oakley 3D glasses).

But it wouldn’t be a bona fide Oakley launch without some major good times.

Held on Easter Sunday at the roof top of a high-rise condo clubhouse and pool, celebration festivities commenced with catered food, a bar full of refreshments and custom Oakley gift bags that included Mastercraft T-Shirts, Oakley 3D Gascan Eyewear and tons of other gifts for guests.

And of course, no O event would be complete without the team itself, other top wakeboarding athletes/industry leaders and special guests…all of whom enjoyed a killer custom Oakley Art Show based on the team through the eyes of Josh Letchworth, Aaron Katen, Bryan Soderlind, Chris Garrison, Bill Doster and Joey Meddock.

To top it all off, a DJ and celebrity guests, including Chris Duhon from the Orlando Magic (NBA) and Santonio Holmes from the New York Jets (NFL), rocked the house for the O Team as it prepares to charge head first into the coming Wake Games and the 2012 season.

Stay tuned for an online 2-D version of the clip – and be sure to drop into your local Oakley Store this Summer to witness history with the World’s first wakeboarding film.

Special thanks to: Mastercraft, Dive Bar, Vitamin Water, Kona Brewery and all the athletes/media that made the evening super special for Oakley.
